Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Working Journalists Union (UPWJU) has reconstituted its state executive committee and announced new office-bearers.
At a state executive committee meeting held in Lucknow on Saturday, UPWJU state president T.B. Singh appointed senior journalist and Aaj Samaj bureau chief Ajay Trivedi as the union’s state general secretary. Senior journalist Rohit Maheshwari was given charge as organisation secretary, while senior journalists Sunil Kumar Diwakar and Ashish Bajpai were appointed joint secretaries of the state committee.
Announcing the appointments, T.B. Singh said the organisation has so far established units in 45 districts of Uttar Pradesh and the process of forming units in the remaining districts would be completed soon.
IFWJ senior vice-president Hemant Tiwari congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers and said they would have an important role to play in the upcoming national convention to be held in Uttar Pradesh.
IFWJ national secretary Siddharth Kalhans said the appointments would be placed before the general body for approval at the state conference scheduled next month.
UPWJU senior state secretary Utkarsh Sinha, secretary Prabhpreet Singh, publication secretary Virendra Singh, publicity secretary Ashish Awasthi, Lucknow division president Anthony Singh, and senior journalists Ashok Tripathi, Mukul Mishra and Amit Mishra were among those present at the meeting.
